Kobena T. Hanson

Senior Advisor

An International Development Practitioner with over 35 years of experience in initiating and managing large-scale development research and capacity-building initiatives, Dr. Hanson has conducted research and consultations in several African countries on development policy, capacity development, knowledge management and livelihood issues.

Kobena brings invaluable experience in Knowledge Management, Capacity Development, Research Design and Implementation, and Program Management to the table. He also has a wealth of experience in the areas of editing, training, and writing for publication. Earlier in his career, he served as Manager of the Knowledge, Evaluation and Learning Department, African Capacity Building Foundation (ACBF), Zimbabwe.

Since 2014, he has consulted for organizations such as the African Development Bank Group (AfDB), the African Legal Support Facility (ALSF), the Population Council, Palladium Group International, and USAID. He holds an Executive Certificate in Public Policy, from Harvard’s Kennedy School, a PhD (Economic Geography) from Queens University, Canada, a PGD (Population & Development) from the Institute of Social Studies, The Netherlands, and an MA (Population Studies) from the UN Regional Institute for Population Studies, Legon.
