Kwabena Agyei Boakye has over 22 years’ experience in development management. Mr Boakye has played a lead role in the design, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of public, private, and non-governmental projects, and programmes across Africa and in the Pacific region including design and implementation of youth and women entrepreneurship and creation programmes. He has also played an active and direct role in the design and operationalisation of M&E systems for over 50 projects and programmes in Africa.

He has played a lead role in development and operationalisation of Evaluation Policies, crafting relevant guidelines and implementation of evaluation related capacity building activities. Kwabena has managed and conducted over 50 evaluations of projects and programmes funded by the World Bank, AfDB, EU and other development partners across 22 countries in Africa and the Pacific. Kwabena is passionate about Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs), and currently evaluating pro-poor women oriented green economy SME project in Ghana funded by Global Affairs Canada. He has in depth appreciation of the challenges that confronts enterprises and entrepreneurs in Africa having worked in over 20 African countries.

Mr. Agyei Boakye was the former Chief Director of the Ministry of Monitoring and Evaluation, Office of the President in Ghana. He has extensive experience as Monitoring and Evaluation Expert/Consultant with African Capacity Building Foundation (ACBF) in Zimbabwe, Public Financial Management for Service Delivery (PFM4SD), Ministry of Finance Ghana and Newmont Ghana Gold Limited. He worked as International M&E Advisor- UNDP/Ministry of Finance and Development Planning, Lesotho and sojourned in the Republic of Fiji where he served as Monitoring, Evaluation and Statistic Expert (KE2) for the Technical Assistance for the Support to Sustainable Rural Livelihoods Programme, Fiji.

Kwabena holds MA Project Evaluation and Management (MPEM) from the University of Antwerp, Belgium, BA Social Science from Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, Ghana and Executive Programme in Implementing Public Policy from the Kennedy School of Governance, Harvard.
